Brenda Joyce Sumrall Dougherty, 73, wife of the late Edward Dougherty, Sr., passed away January 26, 2023.

A native of Meridian, Miss., daughter of the late Alfred and Doris Hillman Sumrall, she was a homemaker and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are her children, David Dougherty, Sr. (Kerry) of Simpsonville, Shirley Brooks (Tony) of Greer, Kimmie Lipari (Joseph) of Taylors, Gerard Dougherty, Sr. (Patricia) of Greenville, Eddie Dougherty of Taylors, and Holly Gillis of Taylors; one sister, Judy Grome (Jimmy) of New York, N.Y.; and 25 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Carrube, Kenneth Sumrall, and Rosie Grant.

Funeral Services:

Visitation will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Father Bartholomew Leon.

Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
