Bruce Elliott Taylor, 94, passed away February 27, 2017 at his home.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late Charles E. and Lois Simmons Taylor, a 1949 graduate of Clemson University, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Bailey Masonic Lodge #146 for 50 years.

He was a former employee of J.P. Stevens Victor Plant, B&B Grocery and Dobson Hardware.

Mr. Taylor was a member of Victor Baptist Church for 65 years, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Director and custodian. He was chosen as Greer Citizen of the Year in 2015 and was runner up for National Volunteer of the Year for Greer Community Ministries in 2015.

Surviving:

Surviving are his daughter, Bonita "Nita" Ellen Taylor McCall of Greer; four grandchildren, Angela McCall Tanner (P.J.), Kevin McCall (Kim), Heather Grooms (Nick) and Holli Johnson (Michael); and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Grooms, Dawson Grooms, Alyssa Taylor and Brady McCall, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Lark Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Bertha Bishop Taylor, a son, Bruce Edward "Eddie" Taylor, and a sister, Allene Ruth Ford.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery and Rev. Jason Farr.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Singleton, Sammy Painter, Fred Painter, Mike Cantrell, Rick Danner, Chris Harvey, Carl "Butch" Howell and Terry Dobson.

Honorary escorts will be the Dave Biehl Sunday School Class and Golden Agers of Victor Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
