Charlotte Elizabeth Gosnell Hamby, 86, widow of John Thomas Hamby, Jr., died December 28, 2015 at the Cottages at Brushy Creek.

A native of Greer, SC, she was a daughter of the late Bart C. and Mae Westmoreland Gosnell, a retired employee of Stone Manufacturing, and member of Riverside Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are a daughter, Melinda Painter of Taylors; a sister, Wilma Gosnell of Greer; one grandson, Jeff Smith of Taylors; and a special niece, Louise Gullette of Greer.

She also was predeceased by four brothers, Wallace, Max, Nelson and Clement Gosnell; a sister, Louise Stewart; and a grandchild, Shannon Smith.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Dr. Marcus Buckley and Dr. Benjamin Littlejohn.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary prior to the service.

The family is at the home of the sister, Wilma Gosnell.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Cottages at Brushy Creek and Gentiva Hospice for their love and care.
