Joseph Christopher "Chris" Owings, 48, of 348 S. Glassy Mountain Road, died September 27, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Greenville County, son of Joseph Melton Owings and Thelma Duncan Owings, he was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Taylors Masonic Lodge #345 for 21 years and the Square and Compass Club.

Surviving:

Surviving are a grandmother, Carrie Lee Duncan of Greer; and a brother, Woody Owings of Greer.

Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, Elmer Duncan and Woodrow and Veleria Hensley Owings.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hopewell Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Michael Pittman.

Burial will be held in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.

Honorary escort will be members of the Taylors Masonic Lodge #345 and Downey Chapter #275 Order of the Eastern Star.

Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
