Donnie Whitmire Cothran Lazar, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 24, 2016.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Kyle A. and Essie Gravley Whitmire, she was a retired employee of Advantica and a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church.
Surviving:
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, William P. Lazar of the home; two sons, Mike Cothran (Joanne) and Ricky Cothran (Rhonda) all of Spartanburg; a step-daughter, Altonia "Dimples" Howell of Greer; a sister-in-law, Betty Whitmire of Spartanburg; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lazar was predeceased by her first husband, Carl W. Cothran and three brothers, Gane A. Whitmire, L.C. Whitmire and Glenn H. Whitmire.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at Covenant Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Honorary escort will be the Joy Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary and 12:45-1:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at Covenant Baptist Church.
The family is at the home.
