Edgar Joe Wilson, 76, of 2 Honeybee Lane, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2013 at his home.

A native of Aiken, son of the late Joe and Eleanor Simmons Wilson, he retired from General Motors in 1988.

Mr. Wilson was an active member of Eastlan Baptist Church.

He was also a member at Cleveland Baptist Church in Ohio for 27 years, where he served as trustee and in the bus ministry and was a former member of Riverside Baptist Church, S.C. for over 20 years where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir.

Surviving:

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Sarrett Wilson of the home; his son, Mark David Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter, JoAnn Wilson Vanvick of Clarksville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Chanda and Joshua Wilson, Evan, John Erik and Elle Vanvick; one great-grandson, Brandon Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was predeceased by his brother, Wallace Wilson and his sister Carol George.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Benjamin Littlejohn and Rev. Jerry Stepp.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
