Elizabeth ("Libby") Barnett Runyan, widow of Dr. Farrell E. Runyan, passed away on October 24, 2015 at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, SC. She was 94.

Libby was the daughter of Samuel Seba Barnett and Grace Gibson Barnett.

Libby was a graduate of North Greenville Junior College and Carson-Newman College.

She also attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Libby and Farrell were Southern Baptist missionaries to Africa from 1946 to 1986 serving in Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Swaziland.

After they retired, Farrell and Libby lived on Highway 11, in northern Greenville County.

Surviving:

She is survived by her three children, Carolyn Runyan Wilberscheid (Joe) of Washington, North Carolina; Michael E. Runyan (Deborah) of Greenwood, South Carolina; and, C. Alan Runyan (Beth) of Beaufort, South Carolina.

Libby is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as her sister Margaret Ann (Jackie) Barnett Brunson (Nolen) of Greenville, SC.

Funeral Services:

Libby?s life will be celebrated at an 11 a.m. memorial service on Friday, October 30, 2015 at The Chapel of Remembrance, Woodlawn Memorial Park, Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, Libby desired that memorials be made to the Farrell and Elizabeth Runyan Endowment Fund, c/o 18 Tuxedo Drive, Beaufort, SC 29907 (the Fund supports mission activities).
