Faye Rollins Hamby, 90, wife of the late Fred Hamby, passed away January 29, 2023.

A native of Greer, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Velfew and Minnie Esther Laster Rollins. She worked in the textile industry for a number of years before retiring as a secretary from Winn-Dixie Warehouse.

Mrs. Hamby was also an entrepreneur, owning her own jewelry business.

Surviving:

Surviving are a daughter, Denise Mitchell Bishop of Greer; stepdaughter, Gail Hamby Wilson (Rev. Harlan) of Charleston; one brother, Dr. Eugene C. Rollins (Linda) of Camden; two grandchildren, Pamela B. Brown (Heath) and Jenna N. Hayes (Ed) both of Greer; and two great-grandchildren, Edward Hayes and Ethan Hayes.

Mrs. Hamby was predeceased by one brother, Franklin P. Rollins and three sisters, Margaret Roberson, Esther Bishop, and Jewell Rollins.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Eugene Rollins.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edward Hayes IV, Jeremiah Prince, Joshua Prince, Lee Revels, Lynn Skinner, and Ed Somers. Honorary escort will be the Crocker Sunday School Class of Fairview Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.

The family is at their respective homes.
