Hugh Ratchford Lancaster, 88, passed away July 14, 2021.

A native of Chesnee, son of the late Burch L. and Elma Coggins Lancaster, he was a retired employee of Hoechst Celanese and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Rita Johnson Sloan Lancaster of the home; two daughters, Libby L. Eaton (Doug) of Nashville, TN., and Jane L. Hawkins (Dean) of Greer; a step-son, Jay Sloan (Debbie) of Taylors; a brother, Curt Lancaster (Hannah) of Chesnee; five grandchildren, Jonathan Eaton (Leah Frances), Rebecca Moss (Hunter), Briley Vickery (Bryan), Elliott Hawkins (Amanda), and Clayton Hawkins; two step-grandchildren, Amanda Guthrie and Jessica Sloan; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lancaster was predeceased by his first wife, Beth Harbeck Lancaster.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. David Lancaster.

Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
