Ira Roy Ussery, 84, died on Friday, May 22, 2015, in Greenville.

A native of Richmond County, NC, he was a son of the late Robert Roy and Maggie MacRae Ussery, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War and a 1954 graduate of Western Carolina University.

Mr. Ussery worked in Research & Development at Springs Industries, and was an active member of Unity Presbyterian Church of Fort Mill, SC.

One of his great joys in life was music and especially singing.

Surviving:

Ira is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Alexander Ussery, of the home; a son, Alex Ussery of Fort Mill, SC; a daughter, Amy Ussery Warren (Jody) of Greer, SC; siblings, Darrell Ussery (Carolyn) of Charlotte, NC, Keith Ussery of Pittsburg, PA, Edith Farmer (Don) of Albuquerque, NM and Sara Childers of Alpharetta, GA; and grandchildren, Chase, Dylan and Catherine Warren and Elizabeth Ussery.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at the Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC, conducted by Dr. Daniel Holloway.

The family is at the home.
