James Iredell Smith, 81, died April 19, 2015 at his home.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Lawson Andrew and Ona Ledbetter Smith, a self-employed mechanic, member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Betty Ruff Smith of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Randy Westmoreland of Greer; two brothers, Wilton Smith of Greer and Randall Smith (Myrtle) of Greenville; one sister, Edna Jones of Greenville; three grandchildren, April Westmoreland of Greer and Kyle Westmoreland (Jacelle) of Landrum; and his beloved dog, "Sissy".

He was also predeceased by one brother, Loyall Smith.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Mark Smith.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
