James Wellington Blackwell, 32, died May 4, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

A native of Greenville County, son of Francis Judson "Jud" and Sheila Garrett Blackwell of Taylors, James was a 2002 graduate of Blue Ridge High School, where he was a member of the Blue Ridge Corp of Cadets and a member of the tennis team.

He was an employee of D & W Fine Pack, past worshipful master of Tyger Masonic Lodge #190, and of the Baptist faith.

James loved to hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle, line dance, and serve those in need.

Surviving:

Also surviving are a sister, Amanda Blackwell and her husband, Karl Lutsckewitz of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; uncles, Robert W. Blackwell, James B. Blackwell, Allen Garrett, Chet Garrett and Dale Garrett; and many cousins.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service with masonic rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Locust Hill Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Locust Hill Baptist Church.

Honorary escorts will be the members of Tyger Masonic Lodge #190 and Brother?s Keepers.

The family is at the home of the parents.
