Kent Alford Ponder, 97, husband of the late Martha Jones Ponder, passed away March 7, 2022.

A native of Greer, son of the late T. Herman and Theotha Hempley Ponder, he was a United States WWII Marine Veteran, retired textile engineer from Lyman Printing and Finishing and a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ponder was a lover of family, fishing, and The Atlanta Braves. Kent was always joyful, soft spoken, kind, gentle, patient, loving and found the positive in all of life.

Surviving:

Surviving are one son, Ron K. Ponder (Maria) of Lexington; one granddaughter, Stephanie Ponder Farley (Bryan); and three great-grandchildren, Cole, Wren and Anna.

Mr. Ponder was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services:

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens conducted by Dr. David Boyter.

Visitation will be held 11:30-12:30 Friday, March 11, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary.
