Leland "Lee" James Alewine, 98, widower of Sara Margaret Ridgeway Alewine, passed away November 28, 2020.

A native of Taylors, South Carolina, son of the late George
"Pete" Wells Alewine, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Taylor Alewine, he was President/CEO of Taylors Lumber Company, a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Libby Thruston of Greenville and Anne Alewine of Taylors; one brother, Francis T. "Corky" Alewine of Taylors; one sister, Fannie Nell Alewine of Taylors; one grandchild, Amy Griffith (Chance) of Easley and three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kaden and Gracie Griffith all of Easley.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Wells Alewine, Jr. and William Raymond Alewine and one sister, Aileen Odom.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Taylors First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Jerry Long and Dr. Jimmie Harley.

A private committal will be held with military honors at Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home.
