Mary Louise Burgess Sudduth, 91, widow of J.L. "Jake" Sudduth, passed away on April 5, 2017 at McCall Hospice House.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Robert Sampson and Della Wood Burgess, she was the retired owner and operator of Holtzclaw Florist until retirement, a homemaker and a devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving:
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kay and Eric Johnson of Fountain Inn; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Joan Burgess of Flowery Branch, Ga; two sisters, Joyce Fincher of Duncan and Betty Barton of Greer; four grandchildren, Krista Hicks, Mark Bragg, Erin Browning and Jennifer Johnson; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sudduth was predeceased by one son, Danny Ray Sudduth, one sister, Lanelle Bridwell and one brother, Robert Burgess.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Tom Burns and Rev. Jackie Bridwell. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Casey Browning, Jacob Murphy, Douglas Hicks, Daniel Bragg, T.J. Bragg, Colby Hawkins, Bryce Duckett and Steven Young.
Honorary escort will be the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at McCall Hospice House.
