Major Hope Bernice Casarez Kitchen, 88, passed away March 20, 2018.

A native of Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jose Trinidad Enrique Casarez and Leona May Rood Casarez, she was a retired Salvation Army Officer.

Surviving:

Surviving are her husband, Major Raymond Whitman Kitchen of the home; one son, David Howard Kitchen of Alexandria, Virginia; one brother, John Henry Casarez of Chesapeake, Ohio; four grandchildren, Frank, Raymond, Karin, and Ginger; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Ray Allen Kitchen, one daughter, Margery Ann Duracher, one brother, Daniel Junior Casarez, a sister, Hazel Mildred Casarez and one grandson, Henry David Kitchen.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Major Pete Costas, Major Frank Duracher and Lt. Randull Tiller.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
