Rachel Virginia Ridings Dickerson, age 95, of Woodruff, SC, Reidville Township, died on Wednesday, May, 27, 2020, at her daughter's home in Greenville, SC.

Born September 14, 1924, in Startex, SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Benjamin and Mary Lou Blackwell Ridings. Rachel was married 55 years to the late Napoleon Dickerson, Army World War II Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient.

Rachel was a homemaker and member of Reidville First Baptist Church for 50 plus years. She served as a Deacon?s wife for many years and also served on the Homecoming, Special Events, Bible School and Lord?s Supper Committees.

She loved serving the Lord, her family and neighbors. Rachel was a good cook and loved sharing meals and birthdays with her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed traveling to visit her brothers and sisters through the years.

Surviving:

Surviving are two sons, Robert Dickerson (Elsie) of Duncan, SC, Gary Dickerson (Susan) of Woodruff, SC; three daughters, Brenda Atkinson and Rhonda Crowe of Greenville, SC, Faye Sanders (David) of Williamston, SC; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Harris of Inman, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Rachel was predeceased by a son, Harold Dickerson; six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2020, at The Wood Mortuary, 300 West Poinsett Street, Greer, SC 29650 by Dr. Ricci T. Allen, Sr.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Greer, SC 29651. The family will greet friends after the committal service keeping in mind the social distancing guidelines.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen Dickerson, Dewayne Dickerson, David Dickerson, Jason Dickerson, Daniel Rodgers, Mark Dill, Jamie Dill, Chris Sanders and Todd Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reidville First Baptist Church, 146 Leonard Drive, Reidville, SC 29375.
