Rev. Dr. Clarence Odell Pittman, 89, widower of Madora Bonner Holder Pittman, passed away on December 26, 2017. His first wife was the late Dorothy King Pittman.

A native of Greer, son of the late Earl and Ethel Pittman and reared by W.H. and Margie Pittman, he was a retired United Methodist Minister where he served in Sandy Springs, Chester, Pisgah-Mt. Pleasant, Fairlawn (Columbia), Concord, Ehrhardt, Fairfax, Dunean, Triune, Stephenson Memorial, Covenant, Woods Chapel, Gray Court and Trinity (Laurens).

Dr. Pittman was the Conference Director of Congregational Development.

Surviving:

Surviving are a brother, Marion Pittman (Jane) of Spartanburg; a sister-in-law, Helen P. Pittman of Greer; nephews, David "Sonny" Pittman (Vicki) of Taylors, Danny Pittman (Rhonda) of Greer and Bryan Pittman (Leslie) of Spartanburg; nieces, Karen Peahuff (Keith) of Greer and Shannon Barron (Bret) of Spartanburg; several great-nieces and nephews; a step-daughter, Denise Holder Jones, (David) of Blythewood; a step-son, David Len Holder (Toni) of Spartanburg; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to caregivers, Valerie Hallums, Tonya Dudley, Nikki Sprouse and Peggy Spelts.

Dr. Pittman was predeceased by one brother David L. Pittman.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Covenant United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Darren Hook and Rev. Linda Guthrie.

Entombment will follow in Graceland East Park Mausoleum.

United Methodist ministers and spouses will be honorary escort.

Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.

The families are at their respective homes.
