Robert "Bob" Brookshire Dean, Sr., 93, of Taylors, S.C., widower of Margie Allen Dean, passed away on August 4, 2021.

A native of Asheville, N.C., son of the late, Clifton H. and Docia Martin Dean, he worked 17 years for A & P Grocery stores and later worked as a salesman for Midstate Mills in Newton, N.C., until he retired in 1988.

Mr. Dean was an avid NASCAR fan, he was there in the beginning when the races were held on the beach in Daytona. Robert enjoyed collecting all things NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Vickie Sargent (Dennis) of Greenville; one son, David M. Dean of Greer; three grandchildren, Lisa Ross, Scott Dean, Chris Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Casey, Courtney, Trevor and Alex; and one sister-in-law, Brenda Kay Dean of Taylors.

Mr. Dean was predeceased one son, Robert B. Dean, Jr.: one brother, Jim Dean and two sisters, Wilma Wilson, and Frances Foster.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 9, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Chris Harrison.

Entombment will follow in Graceland East Mausoleum.

A visitation will be held 4:30-6:30 PM Sunday August 8, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary.

The family will be at their respective homes.
