Rufus Lee Blackwell, 85, of 102 Carolina Avenue, widower of Gwendolyn Dill Blackwell, died April 29, 2013.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Dock and Lela Cochran Blackwell, he was a retired employee of Startex Mill and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Sherry B. Lockaby and Tammy B. Rollins (Ken) all of Lyman; a son, Donnie Blackwell of Greer; two sisters, Ruby McCraw and Thelma Davis both of Greer; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Nancy Rollins of Greer.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Paul White. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Sherry Lockaby, 246 Heatherbrook Drive, Lyman, SC 29365.
