Shlye Everette Barron, 85, husband of the late Drucillia Ann Stenzinger Barron, passed away February 9, 2022.

A native of Clarkesville, Ga., son of the late Cecil Talmadge and Margie Ledford Barron, he was a U.S. Marine Veteran, served as Duncan Chief of Police from 1962-1969, retired from United Carolina Bank, was a member of Duncan Masonic Lodge #309, and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are two sons, Mike Barron (Kim) of Salisbury, N.C., and Skee Barron (Karen) of Greer; a daughter, Julie Barron Edwards (Kenny) of Inman; two brothers, Bobby Barron of Inman and Bruce Barron of Anderson; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Barron was predeceased by one daughter, Pam Johnson, one brother, Jack Barron, and a sister, Virginia Mullins.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Jim McMakin.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park with military rites and masonic rites.

Pallbearers will be Jared Dill, Ben Johnson, Josh Barron, Rick Scruggs, Kenny Edwards, and Mike Barron.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at their respective homes.
