Stephen "Steve" Lamar Johnson, 72, passed October 28, 2022.

Born and grew up in Jacksonville, Ala.,, son of the late James Clayton and Pauline Angel Johnson, he was a graduate of Auburn University and an avid Auburn fan.

After graduation, he relocated to Wilmington, N.C., and then to Greer, S.C. Steve retired from Sealed Air after 40 plus years as Global Engineering Director.

He attended Abner Creek Baptist Church and served as the Treasurer of the church.

As a faithful servant to the Lord in many ways, others have been influenced by his leadership, mentorship, admirable qualities and most of all, his Godly example. We have peace knowing he is with the Lord.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Candace Kimbrell Johnson of the home; a son, Stephen Lamar Johnson, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisc., stepson, Vance Bridges (Terry) of Spartanburg; a brother, Tommy Johnson (Debi) of Jacksonville, Ala.; grandsons, Ethan Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Zeke Johnson of Jacksonville, Ala.; step-granddaughters, Shelby Bridges and Amber Maddox; three great-grandchildren; niece, Emi Burton; and nephew, Ben Johnson.

He was predeceased by his sister, Dianne Johnson.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Abner Creek Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Donald Thomas, Pastor Scott Ogle, Pastor Wallace Hayes, Pastor Will Cleland, and Pastor Mark Allamon.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Vance Bridges, Will Cleland, Ethan Dean, Clay Hendricks, Danny Ray Kimbrell, and Dain Ranew.

Visitation will be held 1:30-2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family is at the home.
