Thomas Joe McCoy, Jr., 72, of 258 Clearview Circle, died August 22, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late Thomas Joe McCoy, Sr., and Ruth Pittman McCoy, he was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, who served on The USS Midway, CV-41 and a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. McCoy was a Boy Scout Master for Troop 144 for over 30 years in Wellford, S.C.

Surviving:

Surviving is his wife, Shirley Mooney McCoy of the home; three sons, Thomas Joe McCoy III and his fianc� Shelley Cantrell of Duncan, Michael (Tony) McCoy and his wife Elizabeth Chastain of Wellford and Donald Andrew McCoy and his wife, Danita Yetter of Illinois; three step-sons, Matthew Walls, Chris Walls and Kevin Walls; one brother, Michael McCoy of S.C.; two sisters, Jo Ruth Ayers (Don) of Inman and Eileen Nelson (Jimmy) of Spartanburg; one sister-in-law Mary Jane McCoy of Boiling Springs; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and mother and father-in-law, Marshall and Sybil Mooney of Greer.

Mr. McCoy was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret C. McCoy and one brother, David McCoy.

Funeral Services:

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Joe Seay and Andy McCoy with military rites.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Mortuary.

The family will be at the home.
