Thomas Oviatt, 73, passed away May 16, 2015.

He was born in Battle Creek, MI on May 22, 1941 to Sidney and Janet Hastings Oviatt.

Tom graduated from both Michigan State and Bob Jones University.

He was employed by Chevrolet Manufacturing for 19 years, taught high school math and later provided IT support for BJU Press.

He enjoyed playing and building guitars, teaching ESL and technology classes, biking, hiking and reading.

He attended Heritage Bible Church of Greer.

Surviving:

Surviving are his loving wife, Carol of the home; one daughter, Lindsey (Todd) Dickinson of Greer; one son, Thomas Oviatt, Jr., of Altamont, TN; one brother, Edwin Oviatt, II of Yountville, CA; three sisters, Shirley Paul of Charlottesville, VA, Alice Lawrence of Durham, NC and Ann Dayan of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Jason and Megan Oviatt of Covington, GA and Danae and Kieron Dickinson of Greer; five nieces and one nephew.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Danny Brooks.

Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held 1:00-1:45 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
