Miriam Verlin Turner Blackwell, 86, widow of Thomas Harold Blackwell, passed away on June 2, 2018.

A native of Startex, daughter of the late Willie Marvin and Comila Mae Smith Turner, she was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a member of Tucapau Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Barnett (Gary) of Lyman and Joyce Tuck (Sid) of Moore; one son, Lemuel Blackwell (Kelli) of Pickens; two brothers, Joseph Turner (Mary) of Lyman and Preston Turner of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Blackwell was predeceased by three brothers, Gordon Turner, Robert Turner and Boyce Turner and four sisters, Bernice Padgett, Faye Allen, Wilma Powell and Frances Turner.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Tucapau Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Bill Pate and Rev. Jeff Eubanks.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Tuck, Ryan Cothran, Matthew Blackwell, Zac Corn, Paul Boggs and Gary Barnett.

Honorary escort will be the Golden Circle Sunday School class, Frances Blackwell, Fay Fisher and Sara Hennery.

Visitation will be held 1:00-2:45 p.m. at Tucapau Baptist Church.
