Virginia Ward Shirley, 86, widow of Paul Edward Shirley, Sr., passed away June 14, 2018.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Lewis and Clela Whitener Ward, she was a homemaker, a member of Greer First Baptist Church and Southern Bell Telephone Pioneer and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Surviving:

Surviving are a son, Paul "Eddie" Shirley, Jr. (Sue) of Greenville; a sister, Nancy Fieneman of Hohenwald, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Alan Shirley (Beth) and Marijke Posch (Owen); and one great-granddaughter, Anna Meike Posch.

Mrs. Shirley was predeceased by a son, Kenny Shirley and four brothers, Lewis Ward, Jack Ward, Richard Ward and Paul Alan Ward.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Greer First Baptist Church, conducted by Mrs. Dottie Bryson.

Honorary escort will be the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held 3:00-4:45 p.m. Sunday at the church.
