Talk about planning for a festival.
Saturday’s Oktoberfest in downtown Greer comes at the most convenient time for Clemson and South Carolina football fans who enjoy partying.
The Greer Chamber of Commerce’s annual Oktoberfest is noon-10 p.m. Saturday and the two state rival football rivals have nowhere to go since this is an open date.
Oktoberfest is one of two Chamber-sponsored events.
Warsteiner beer is a fixture at the annual event. Warsteiner will be serving Oktoberfest, Pilsner, Dunkel and Konig Ludwig Weissbier.
German oompah bands and food (Bavarian white sausages, knackwurst, bratwursts, spaetzel, German chocolate cake and Black Forest cake) are typical offerings.
Local artists, crafts, photography, jewelry and woodwork will be some of the works on display.
Ticketed food and beverage items are $1 to $5.
