Panel invites community input into Hwy. 29 corridor development

A team of experts from the Urban Land Institute visits Greer Wednesday and Thursday at City Hall seeking input for the study of future land development, transportation choices and active living opportunities along the Hwy. 29 corridor between Greenville and Spartanburg.

A drop-in for “Linking Our Futures: Shaping a Transit-Ready Corridor is Wednesday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Greer City Hall and the panel’s preliminary recommendations will be discussed Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

The Technical Assistance Program team includes individuals from banking, real estate, commercial development, planning and public transportation. Their recommendations will complement transportation improvements already planned along Hwy. 29 to improve the functionality of the corridor as an alternative to I-85 for local traffic and for public transit.
