The Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Fest begins at 10 a.m. as the excitement mounts throughout the day for the Marshall Tucker Band’s performance at 7:30 p.m. at City Park.

A mini-park of rides, the first day of auditions for Greer Idol and Idol Teen, and an evening of entertainment highlighted Friday’s activities.

All events are free. Complete schedules, food, entertainment and children and family activities are listed here.

The weather, mid-70s and sunny skies during the day with cooling temperatures in the evening provide ideal lawn viewing of the MTB.

Downtown businesses and restaurants are open throughout the festival. Roads will remain closed until 2 a.m. Sunday.

Creation Station, the highlight for children and families, will have arts and crafts at the Depot on School Street, the Pelham Medical Center has scheduled a full day of screenings, meet the doctors and educational events, and vendors and food are available throughout downtown Greer.

Entertainment will be at two stages throughout the day.

The Veterans Walk will precede the MTB performance. Veterans will meet at the park’s fountains at 6:30 p.m. and the walk begins at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Doug Gray and the MTB learned it had been invited to play at the CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert in Nashville on June 4.
