A crossover from the median will be cut through to GSP Logistics Parkway. The South Carolina Department of Transportation will provide signage for truckers entering and exiting. All port container traffic will be routed from I-85 to Brockman-McClimon Road onto Highway 101, connecting with Highway 80 (J. Verne Smith Parkway) and finally to GSP Logistics Parkway.

Roads entering the South Carolina Inland Port in Greer are taking shape and that means the entrance off Hwy. 290 is nearer to being closed.

Inland Port traffic will enter the port  by exiting J. Verne Smith Parkway (Hwy. 80) onto GSP Logistics Parkway. After a short distance, all incoming traffic will bear right, and pass through a security checkpoint onto International Commerce Way, the South Carolina Port Authority road.

The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Board of Commissioners recommended the entry point’s name.

International Commerce Way was designated by the South Carolina Ports Authority.

Cargo at the Inland Port is scheduled to begin moving later this month. The SCPA projects 40,000 containers within the first year of operation with 100,000 within five years, or sooner.

Port Trivia

Question: What are TEUs?

Answer: Port container traffic measures the flow of containers from land to sea transport modes,  and vice versa, in twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a standard-size container.
