Thornblade Club continues as the host course for all four days of the 2016 BMW Pro-Am.
The Preserve at Verdae is the newest host course among the three in rotation for the BMW Pro-Am golf tournament.
The 2016 tournament, May 19-22, also features The Preserve at Verdae as a new three-day host course, joining Thornblade Club and The Reserve at Lake Keowee. The Web.com Tour tournament features The Preserve as its newest host course, located in the hub of one of the community’s fastest growing areas.
This is the ninth year Greer’s Thornblade Club will be a host course.
The Preserve is a par 72 championship golf course designed by Willard Byrd, carved into a lush forest with hills and mountain-like brooks, making the course both scenic and challenging to play.
Verdae Development’s mixed-use project, announced in April 2014 will feature improved streetscape design, connectivity/walkability to a proposed trail connecting to downtown and provide more access between Hollingsworth Park and the surrounding shopping centers.
“Events like the BMW Charity Pro-Am tournament naturally enhance our existing day-to-day corporate citizenship and philanthropic activities,” said Bob Nitto, president of the tournament. “It’s great to know that the tournament’s impact will continue for another three years.”
