Pride sets 3 county records, Greer boys 2nd, girls 3rd

TAYLORS — The Greer High School Boy’s and Girl’s Track and Field Teams excelled Wednesday night as the boys finished second while the girls finished third at the Greenville County Track and Field Championships.

Senior Troy Pride won the 100-, 200- and 400-meters, but also broke the county record in all three events. Sophomore Quay White won the 110 hurdles while Senior Dorian Lindsey finished in second place in the 400 hurdles. The Yellow Jackets also took second place in both the 400 and 1,600 relays.

In the girls competition, Sophomore Kaiya Bradford finished in third place in the 100 hurdles and second Place in the high Jump. Freshman Ebony Balsley took third place in the 400 hurdles to go along with her championship in the long jump from Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Wednesday and Thursday at Eastside High School for the Region II-AAA Track and Field Championships. The meet is 5 p.m. each day.
