Rev. William B. Moore, pastor more than 60 years, dies

Rev. William B Moore, a Church of God minister for over 60 years including pasturing seven churches, went home to be with the Lord and joined his beloved wife Jeanette on September 15, 2013.

Rev. William B. Moore, a Church of God minister for over 60 years including pasturing seven churches, went home to be with the Lord and joined his beloved wife Jeanette on September 15, 2013.

He was the son of the late William B. and Macie Lee Padgett Moore, Sr. He proudly served his country in the US Naval Forces during World War II. A man of many gifts, yet always staying on his knees in prayer and remaining true to his calling to “win souls for Christ.”

He is survived by his two daughters, Diane (Tony) Howard, and Rebecca (Rev. Bob) McCuen; his grandchildren, Michelle (Gary) Carpenter, Meredith (Parker) Sloan, and April (Brent) Rains. In addition, there are six great-grandchildren.

The Celebration service will be Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Praise Cathedral, 3390 Brushy Creek Road in Greer, conducted by Revs. Jerry Madden, Bobby Johnson, Bob McCuen and Haywood Proctor.

The family will receive friends after the service. The body will be in the church one hour prior to service.
