Riverside falls in first round of holiday tournament

Riverside fell behind in the first quarter and couldn’t make up the difference as the Warriors fell to Charlotte United 68-50 in the first round of the Linderg Moddy Holiday Basketball Classic.

Riverside closed to within eight points in the third quarter until Charlotte United shut down the comeback.

Myles Smith led Riverside with 18 points.

Riverside plays Allendale Friday at 1 p.m. The 15-team tournament continues through Monday’s championship games.
