Riverside Middle School news and announcements

• Two Riverside Middle School students were named winners at the district level in the 47^th Annual Poetry and Poster Contest to "Celebrate 100 Years in Career Development." The students will receive a certificate from the school district and  compete at the state level competition. The winners are: Asia Hopwood (6^th Grade) - 1^st Place in Poetry - Middle School Division and Caitlin Takney (7^th Grade) - 2^nd place in Poster C1 - Middle School Division.

• Brooke Howard is the school coordinator and Susan Mathewson is the Career Education teacher.
•  Curriculum Night will be held Thursday, Jan. 24,  for rising 6^th-, 7^th-, and 8^th-grade parents at 6:30 p.m. The three grade levels will be held in different locations:  6^th – gymnasium, 7^th – cafeteria, and 8^th – Media Center.  The evening is organized to inform parents about the grade level curriculum, classes offered, and student expectations. 
•  Members of the RMS Beta Club will be competing at the S.C. Beta Club Convention in Myrtle Beach on Jan. 24-25.  Thirty-one 7th- and 8th-grade students will attend the convention. 
•  RMS String students will participate in a field trip on Friday, Jan. 25.
•  Breakfast with Moms will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 7-7:45 a.m. in the school’s cafeteria.  RSVPs should be submitted by Feb. 6, using the online form on the school’s website or to [email protected].
