Riverside High School students Abby Easterday finished first and Gretchen Baudendistel third in the Black History Month Essay contest sponsored by the City of Greer.

• Mary Carol Butterfield, Kerry Yan, Lexus Dickson and Hiba Kouser finished in the top 10 in the South Carolina Dialogue’s Art & Essay contest. The theme for the essay was “Connecting Cultures in the Digital Age: How Does Social Media Change the Future of Our World?”
