Seaman Christopher Atkins from Greenville aboard the amphibious assault USS Makin Island.

 

Seaman Christopher Atkins from Greenville steers the ship as he stands helmsman watch aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in the Pacific Ocean.

Makin Island is conducting integrated training with Amphibious Squadron Five and the 11^th Marine Expeditionary Unit in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
