Services for Greer student killed in crash is tonight

Services for Allen Peter Turlak, 17, will be held tonight with burial Thursday.

Turlak, who was a junior at Greer High School, died Saturday at Spartanburg Regional Hospital from injuries in a wrong-way crash on Business 85, near Heron Circle, in Spartanburg Friday morning.

Services will be held 7-9 tonight at the Ark of Salvation Slavic Church at 270 Mitchell Road in Inman. Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Highway 9, in Boiling Springs

Turlak and his brother, 19, were heading north Friday morning when a 2005 Ford Mustang, traveling south in the northbound lane of the interstate hit the Tulaks’ Honda Civic head-on, according to Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The crash happened near Exit 5B in the area of Hearon Circle interchange around 4:15 a.m.

The Turlak brothers and driver of the Mustang were all entrapped and all were wearing seatbelts, according to Rhyne.
