The women will compete in five categories: Preliminary interview, lifestyle and fitness, talent, evening wear, and on-stage interview.
This year’s contestants are mostly from the Upstate and include: Jordan Garner (Woodruff), Hope Sams (Columbus, N.C.), Takerra Mills (Spartanburg), Bonnie Walls (Piedmont), Lindsey Hoffman (Spartanburg) and Alyssa Sherrill (Duncan).
“The Miss SMC Pageant is an exciting event on our campus,” said Caton. “The young ladies who participate have a chance to improve their interview skills, showcase their talents, and show their care and concern for others through their community service efforts.”
The pageant will be held in Gibbs Auditorium on the Spartanburg Methodist College campus, and will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets $5, and admission is free for SMC students, faculty, and staff.
