Spartanburg Medical Center accredited for maximum term

Published on Thursday, October 24, 2013

Spartanburg Medical Center’s (SMC) Pharmacy Residency program has received the maximum six-year accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).  The six year accreditation occurred in less than 36 percent of new programs surveyed before the ASHP spring commission on credentialing.

“This duration of accreditation speaks to the dedication of our department to the program, the high level of pharmacy education provided by our staff to our residents, and the department of pharmacy’s commitment to delivering optimal pharmaceutical care to our patients,” said Phil Humphrey, director of SMC’s Residency Program and Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
