The final Jingle Bell Jog and Fun Runs ends its 8-year run on Saturday, Dec. 12 through the Sugar Creek neighborhood.

Mary Lee Tierney and John Harrison have headed up the race event that raises money for local charities. They will no longer be co-managing the event.

The ¾-mile Elf Run and Jingle Bell Jog 5k are scheduled at 2:15 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

The family 5k winds through the neighborhood of Sugar Creek. Some families don holiday garb to participate in the fun runs.

Post-race food is provided by Publix and Chick-fil-A. Prizes for the top finishers will be awarded.

Since the first year with 200 participants the event has grown to over 1,200 participants in all events in 2011 and donated more than $82,000 to local charities.

The Frazee Center is a free after school and summer program for under resourced children in the Greenville area.

Daily Bread Ministries’ Greer Soup Kitchen serves more than 100 meals a day.

Register here or call Tierney at 864-363-0570, Harrison at 864-630-3014 or email here.
