Greer voters face two referendums Tuesday in an election that has more a state impact than local governing officials.
Mike Burns (District 17), Tommy Stringer (18), Phyllis Henderson (21) and Rita Allison (36) are all unopposed. Trey Gowdy is opposed by Libertarian candidate Curtis McLaughlin.

Greer voters will determine if Sunday alcohol sales at retail businesses – grocery and convenience stores – will be allowed to sell beer and wine. Greer voters approved, in 2010, alcohol sales in restaurants on Sundays.
The Sunday alcohol sales referendum states:
"Shall the South Carolina Department of Revenue be authorized to issue temporary permits in this municipality for a period not to exceed twenty-four hours to allow the sale of beer and wine at permitted off-premises locations without regard to the days and hours of sales?"
A contentious issue faces Greenville county voters as they decide whether to raise the sales tax to pay for repairs to roads, bridges and sidewalks.
Supporters of the hike say the tax increase is necessary to make up for a lack of state funding and to ensure driver safety. Opponents argue a tax hike is unnecessary and that claims of how the money will be spent are misleading.

There are two questions on Tuesday’s ballot about changing South Carolina’s Constitution. The first asks whether nonprofit organizations should be allowed to hold a limited number of charity raffles. The second asks whether the governor should appoint the state’s adjutant general, who is in charge of its National Guard, its military department and emergency management division. At present, the post is chosen by popular ballot.
