Washington Center student Daria Jenkins is assisted by classmate Jacob Ashmore preparing for a campus walk in connection with a lesson on hiking preparation.
Earlier, students participated in a lesson about hiking, learning what materials they would need to take while participating in an interactive hike using the Promethean Board. Students compared hiking in fall to hiking in summer.
Some students went on a “hike” around the school and followed signs to stay on the trail.
Later in the week, students made GORP (good –old raisins and popcorn), a traditional food eaten when hiking.
