During the month of December, McKenzie Riley’s class learned that  winter holidays are also known as the giving season.

To illustrate this point, his class went on two community-based instruction trips. The project took several days and was completed over a two-week time period.

On one trip the students purchased gifts for their family members. Students wrapped their gifts and took them home.

On the second trip, students bought ingredients to make a cake, cookies, and brownies to give to fellow students and staff at Washington Center.

Students learned that giving to others is an important part of the holidays.
