Wortkoetter signs baseball grant with Presbyterian

An attentive audience watched Greer High School’s Ethan Wortkoetter sign his grant-in-aid today at the library. Wortkoetter is flanked by his father, Bryan, and mother, Joni while the second row, left to right, are Dale Gosnell, Post 115 coach and Greer coaches Eric Moody, Kevin Gregory and head coach Bob Massullo.

Ethan Wortkoetter signed a grant-in-aid with Presbyterian College to play baseball for the Big South Conference school.

Wortkoetter, a pitcher and infielder for Greer High School and Greer American Legion Post 115, had a standout senior season for baseball coach Bob Massullo.

The 5-foot-11, 145-pound righthander was 3-3 with six complete games this season that included an earned run average of 1.10. Wortkoetter pitched 38.3 innings, allowed 27 hits, only 6 earned runs, nine walks and struck out 41.
