Greer places 9 players, Blue Ridge 7 on All-Region football team

Emanuel Kelly, the all-purpose standout for Greer High School, was selected to the All-Region II-AAA team.

The 2013 All-Region II-AAA football team selections have been announced. Below are the schools and players.

Region Champion Greer placed nine players on the team, with Blue Ridge and Greenville, having seven players each.

BRMS Student Council hosts food drive

Blue Ridge Middle School Student Council hosted the Annual Blue Ridge Middle School food drive December 2-13. 

BRMS students collected 13,457 cans and more than $2,000. All donations were sent to local Greer food banks and charities.

Blue Ridge HS business group collects Toys for Tots

Blue Ridge High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) collected 154 toys for the Marine Toys for Tots program. It was the group’s 5th annual toy drive.

“It was an honor to lead a drive for such an amazing cause.  Just knowing that it might make one child’s Christmas makes it all worthwhile,” said Alyson Craig, Chapter President.

BRHS students collected more than 1,000 Christmas cards for military
DEC 9, 2013

Blue Ridge High School Service Learning students collected over 1,000 Christmas cards from the student body to be sent to members of the miltary and their families.

Blue Ridge High School Service Learning students participated in the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes and collected over 1,000 Christmas cards from the student body to be sent to members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and military families this holiday season.

• National Honor Society member Brady O’Boyle (11th grade) organized a teddy bear drive for Fire Departments. Firemen give out the bears when there is a house fire. The Blue Ridge NHS chapter donated over 400 bears.

Blue Ridge FBLA members aid Greenville Humane Society
DEC 4, 2013

Alyson Craig, president of the Blue Ridge High School FBLA chapter, shows some of the items donated to the Greenville Humane Society.

Members of the Blue Ridge High School Future Business Leaders of America sponsored a Halloween Photo Costume Contest and Drive to benefit the Greenville Humane Society.

 Gift baskets were awarded to the following winners:  Allison Gosnell and her dog "Tanker," Tammy Fowler and her cat "BR Tiger" and Eva Dill and her horse "Fancy."
