Taylor Lance, of Blue Ridge High School, signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play golf at Newberry College.
Lance has played on the golf team since the 7th grade and was selected All-Region in Class AAA five years. She helped Blue Ridge to a region and upper state championship and was selected all-state.
Courtney Robinson, a senior guard at Blue Ridge High School, signed to play basketball at Wingate University.
Robinson is a 1,000-point scorer, eclipsing that mark last January. Blue Ridge finished 20-6 and was ranked No. 6 last year.
Chris Tapp outbid Judy Tipton for an autographed Greer High School football helmet in the most intense bidding of the night at Big Thursday’s live auction.
Tapp and his wife, Sandra, bid $430 for the helmet and an accompanying jersey No. 52. It was third highest bid for an item.
Blue Ridge High School recently installed members of the school's first Key Club.
The installation ceremony was held Oct. 27.
