Greer linebacker John Hicks picked up some of the spoils of victory tonight. Hicks, Greer's leader in virtuall all defensive categories, holds a stick with Tigers.

Blue Ridge sophomore quarterback Ty Montgomery had turned in a prolific offensive season despite precious little varsity experience.

The Greer defense planned all week to key on the Tigers’ trigger man and the pressure from the Yellow Jackets’ front line played a major role in Greer’s 35-7 victory tonight.

Get ready for Halloween Hoopla Saturday

Family Friendly Fun will take place Saturday in the City Park at the annual Halloween Hoopla provided by Freedom Fellowship Church. The event begins at 4 p.m.

 Freedom Fellowship Church and the City of Greer will partner again this year to provide Halloween fun, treats, and entertainment for little ghouls and goblins on Saturday.

Rocky Horror Picture Show is moving indoors

The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns for its third engagement in four years at the Greer City Park complex – only this year it's moving inside. The Cannon Centre will host the show Friday, Oct. 26 with pre-show entertainment at 9 p.m. and the film at 11.

Adults age 18 and over, the movie is rated R,  will be admitted for one or more cans of non-perishable food to help feed the hungry in the Greer area.

Indian Boundary Line marker to be moved to City Park
OCT 16, 2012

The Indian Boundary Line marker will be moved to Greer City Park. Tom McAbee and Marian Hayes of Greer offered the suggestion and City Council approved it in a unanimous (7-0) vote.

The Indian Boundary Line historical marker was given unanimous (7-0) approval by Greer City Council to be moved to Greer City Park.

Tom McAbee and Marian Hayes appeared before City Council last Tuesday to ask for the relocation from the corner of Wade Hampton Boulevard and North Line Street. The sign is on a corner and in a right of way.
