Upstate man gets 25-years for botched armed robbery

Gerald Caldwell, 53, pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, kidnapping and attempted armed robbery. 
 

A Spartanburg man received a 25-year prison sentence Wednesday after he accepted responsibility for a botched armed hold-up at a local home.

Gerald Caldwell, 53, pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, kidnapping and attempted armed robbery. Caldwell, a previous sex offender, will serve 85 percent of Circuit Judge Mark Hayes’ prison sentence before he is eligible for release.
