High school students are being offered to participate in a free CSI Camp administered by the Greer Police Department June 4-8 from 9 a.m. – noon. Students will get a look at forensics and work done at crime scenes by the police department specialists.
The camp is offered to rising 9th through 12th graders. Students will participate in practical exercises in crime scene processing, fingerprinting, methods of developing latent prints and shoe impressions. Students will learn how they can pursue a career in criminal justice.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office and City of Greer Police Department hosted a Meth Awareness Class on April 23 at Riverside High School to make residents aware of indicators of meth cooks and users.
Law enforcement officers making the presentation praised South Carolina’s stop-sale system that is a deterrent to individuals purchasing medicines containing chemicals in the production of meth.
